Speculations are there that Apple is soon introducing a tablet computer. soon, we’ll all be sorely disappointed. With all the ongoing speculation about the alleged iPod-on-steroids, I feel like the device is already here.

According to Apple Insider the Big Tablet is arriving early next year. This prediction matches one two months ago by Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster.

If reports are to believed, the tablet is an iPod-like device with a 10-inch screen, looks like a handheld slate, large enough for HD movies, Web browsing and video gaming.  But it comes without the window-resizing and screen-tapping features.

According to Apple Insider, the tablet will feature 3G broadband, and who knows it might as well have Wi-fi, Bluetooth and GPS.

Price

Reports say it would be $800, but we think this will be little higher for a consumer electronics device and average American who spend $1200 per year on electronic products [2007 study by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)], would not spend two-thirds of their tech budget on one handheld device. Also at a point of time whn recession is tightening every budget such a high price may get Apple fewer customers. So, we think, $500 will be a good guess.
