South By South West (SXSW) is such an event which not only gather Internet Technology stars but also help new aspiring Internet stars showcase their talent.

The annual festival takes place in the state capital of Texas. This acts as a launch pad for new technology, music and films.

 The interactive technology section started on Friday. People are anticipating new Internet stars like Twitter in 2007. In 2007, Twitter made its debut in SXSW.

Technology titans are seen sponsoring parties and throwing parties. Among the technology giants present here are  Internet search mogul Google; software giant Microsoft, social-networking biggy Facebook, and online news aggregation big boss Digg.

This year, SXSW will have a ScreenBurn portion which will discuss about the videogame industry and will also include a panel that will discuss Apple’s iPhones flourishing as mobile gaming devices.

SXSW started in 1987. Initially it was a platform for new music bands who fought here to win fans and fame. Later it has become one of the largest US music festivals. The event will wind up on March 22. About 1,800 bands will perform during this festival. The Film and Interactive festivals are the additions done to SXSW in 1994.
