Online music streaming startup Grooveshark built an iPhone app was rejected by Apple App Store. Grooveshark claims that Apple has been “ritually rejecting” the app for “primary selfish reasons”.

As Grooveshark was denied access to the App Store, it has decided to release the app on Cydia , which will enable people who have jailbroken their iPhone and iPod touch devices to enjoy it.

The app is like Spotify who has an approved iPhone app approved by Apple.  Groovershark has both premium and VIP users who can use the app to search for tracks within a giant catalog of music. The search speed is good and you can instantly stream tracks them from the device. It has playlists, favorites etc. completely synced.

The app also allows you to make tracks and entire playlists available offline, so you still enjoy the music even when you are not connected.
