Microsoft launches new phone software

On Tuesday Microsoft Corp unveiled its new software for mobile phones. The company also promised that, by the end of the year, over 30 new devices would be available in the market in more than 20 countries.

The phones which use Microsoft’s new Windows Mobile 6.5 software that plays music and opens Word and Excel documents, we’ll find their competitor in the form of Apple Inc’s iPhone and Research in Motion Ltd’s BlackBerry devices.

Manufacturers and network providers will be introducing new Microsoft-driven phones include Samsung Electronics Co Ltd, AT&T Inc and Vodafone Group Plc.

Microsoft also declared about a new online application store, which will host 246 applications for users using Microsoft driven phones.
