Google’s has bought another advertising company. Google has acquired display advertising company Teracent for an undisclosed amount of money in a deal which will close this quarter. A few weeks ago, Google acquired AdMob for $750 million.
Teracent has an Intelligent Display Advertising technology, which is smart enough to create display ads entirely customized to the specific consumer and site. The startup’s proprietary alogirthims is able to pick the creative parts of a display ad automatically in real time. The creative parts include images, text and colors. The creative parts are based on factors such as, geographic location, the content of the website, language, the time of day or the past performance of different ads.
Google hopes to use Teracent’s technology to offer to its display advertising clients who run campaigns in Google’s Content Network and to DoubleClick clients.
Rumors have been making rounds about Google’s talk with Teracent about a possible acquisition a few weeks ago. Yahoo had a partnership with Teracent for its “Smart Ads” program for PC and mobile advertisers.
